Richard RiersonThis episode is about the leadership that is the very backbone of the successful organizations that perform exceptionally every year and get better and better with time under the experience of the leadership they have. But was it the same from the beginning? No, it wasn t. Not every leadership is perfect right from the start. There are a lot of phases through which they get and they fail sometimes too but what they don t do is look weak in front of the people whose entire lives depend on them. The successful leaders get wiser by the time by learning from their mistakes. But is there some sort of special criteria for being a leader? Technically yes but in general terms, every other person can be a leader if he believes so. He just needs to understand what the true meaning of leadership is.

It means that one has to tap into the abilities of the people that he is leading and they look up at him for the sense of direction. He needs to connect with those people at deeper levels and he needs to believe in himself and the other people that they have an unlimited potential in them to perform amazingly. How often we consider ourselves as a role model to someone else? Do we ever consider that at the very moment someone s whole life depends on us and we have to make them see what their true abilities are and help them all the way through to reach their peak levels of success.?

Then there is a huge difference between just managing and leading because management is limited to the functions controlling, managing, monitoring etc. but leadership goes way beyond that and a good leader always knows how he is going to bring the best out of his team to achieve the very objectives upon which the vision of the organizations is based. That s why leadership plays the key role for sustainable and successful achievements in any industry bigger or smaller.

The true leadership is not just on the outer surface with charismatic personalities and charming speeches. There is no room for egoistic leadership because it can only last for short-term results. Then there should be enough courage in the people who are leading the entire organizations that they stick to what they believe in and no matter what the consequences are, never hesitate to speak up and do the right thing even if they have to sacrifice their own interests at some personal risks even.

The principles and laws for leadership are hardly important if you believe and have the desire to a leader because it is irrespective of the job or any title. You just need to reach out for it and start becoming a better leader, learn from others, and don t ever repeat what others are doing wrong in the first place. It s not just the upper management, a leader can be anybody who opts for it and wants to do really good for the organization he is a part of.
